m is for marilyn monroe

After thinking, I decided on one of the most influential women in history  - Marilyn Monroe. She's classy, but feisty, and effortlessly gorgeous. Her words have been quoted by thousands, and her style has become iconic; I had no choice but to search for amazing clothes and accessories that would be Marilyn-worthy. With her signature white dress and bold red lipstick, Marilyn Monroe is the epitome of classic Hollywood glamour.

I fell in love with this gorgeous Elizabeth and James dress ($420), which is so whimsical and playful, showing off the carefree personality of Marilyn. Paired with a simple strand of pearls with lace accents (Forever 21, $8) creates the perfect day-outfit for springtime.

I found this amazing Marilyn shirt from Forever 21 ($25) with a print on the front, and an open lace back. I'm all for casual day wear that has incredible detailing, and in turn this shirt becomes so versatile! I can see it paired with dark jeans and a blazer, or high waisted black shorts, with a great pair of heels.

Finally, I put together my favourite glam Marilyn Monroe outfit. Complete with a beaded black corset dress, patent nude pumps (Aldo, $80), and a matching "Marilyn" purse by Marc B** (Topshop, $78). Of course, the outfit wouldn't be complete without Chanel red lipstick, and the signature Chanel No. 5 perfume. A great outfit for a night out on the town to channel your inner old Hollywood star!

Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul.

  1. Thanks for your blog comment!

I love Marilyn! She's such a classic lady! I remember in History 12, we had to do biographies on famous people and I chose Marilyn.

I also adore the ABC set up you have going on! How did you come up with that idea?

Anyway thanks for dropping by, and I'll definitely be checking back on your blog.
    xo.
