would you dance if i asked you to dance

Yes, I just listened to some old school Enrique. That man has made such a comeback this year, my goodness. So, I've been realizing that I put way too much thought into my blog posts. From now on, I'm just going to blog, whenever I feel like it, whatever time of day feels best. Because I have so much on my mind, and I forget that my blog is my outlet to just take all that mumble jumble and send it out into the world. So, here I am, just past 1am and I have to get up at 8am tomorrow (this morning?) to take the dirty, cold, long, dreary, every-sad-word-I-can-think-of skytrain to the downtown SFU campus. Can you tell I'm in an optimistic mood?

What did cheer me right up though were three things: One, I took my little cousin shopping - she stepped into Forever 21 and squealed with delight - and we threw pennies in the fountain like kids love to do. She also bought her first Lululemon sweater! At 10 years old, that girl is a fashionista in the making. Second, my parents hosted an impromptu family dinner. And third, the Golden Globes were on, with the many beautiful people that we all love to look at and talk about. Winner of Best Actress was Natalie Portman, so I took some Black Swan inspiration for this little post. I think maybe I'll rock my black tutu-skirt to school.

  1. LOVE this post... the ballet inspired clothing is so beautiful and I feel like dressing super girly tomorrow now! I'm so happy Natalie Portman won best actress too (though she was pretty much a shoo in)!

    Happy Monday!

  5. These picks are all so pretty. I love how Black Swan has inspired designers and high street retailers to do the ballerina look but in a slightly edgier, more modern way.

  8. Hey there :) Don't be sad, school is fun! I love the relevance of the pieces to the movie without being made of mostly feathers, these are great pieces! Have a great week ;)

  11. Love this post!
And I can't lie - after watching Black Swan I totally had to put out my pointe shoes and twirl around. Then I decided I must of been a masochist since those babies hurt! If the Rodarte duo were designing my costumes though, I would never complain about the pain.
