live your passion

Today I'm combining two of my passions in life: one, blogging (which I'm so happy to be back doing!) and two, dancing. I was a competitive dancer for most of my life, but when I started University, school held me back. Finally, after a year or so, I'm taking a class downtown and I could not be more excited. What are you passionate about? I'm definitely learning that it's important to make time for the hobbies and activities that make me happy. Where would we be if all we did was study or work all day?

These photos were taken by the lovely Kelly Swanson of Kelly Swanson Photography. Isn't she amazing? This outfit is so comfortable when paired with flats, but can instantly be sophisticated with some great accessories and heels. My mom helped me out this time by suggesting this vintage belt, and I loved the way it looked. And ps... these pants were only $10. Can you believe it?! Have an amazing Wednesday!

working for the weekend

I spent this weekend up in Whistler for Crankworx and had such a great time. The city was packed, the weather was beautiful, and I was in very good company. It was definitely a weekend full of crazy mishaps, but that always makes for great stories and even better memories. Of course I also had to do a bit of shopping, and by a bit I mean spend all my money at Aritzia because there was a huge sale. I unfortunately didn't take any outfit photos while away, so I thought I'd share a few shots that were taken by Andrew Cho at the Vancouver Public Library on the day of my second video (which you can watch here). I'll hopefully be filming another video up in Whistler in the next few weeks!

P.S. A picture from Whistler to put a face to a name: watching Red Bull Joyride with Andrew at Crankworx, who's also a pro mountain biker. Aren't we cute?

just came to say hello

I'm baaaaack! After a long July hiatus, I finally have a few spare moments in my busy life to share some amazing material for my readers. Work has been especially time consuming, and when I'm not working I've been spending some great quality time with friends and family. The Vancouver summer has been such a let down this year, so whenever there's a moment of sunshine I try to embrace it. I ventured to a pretty location with amazing friend and photographer Kelly Swanson to capture a few photos. I fell in love with this dress at a small store in Penticton when I was up there over the long weekend. It's so easy to wear, and I have a secret love for anything with an open back. And did I mention my wedges? These babies are so comfortable and I've been wearing them with everything from shorts to pants to dresses. I love finding easy to wear heels - I need a little bit of height being only five feet tall! Thanks again to Kelly for the beautiful photos, and I hope you all have a happy Wednesday!

true north strong and free

Happy 144th Birthday Canada! I'm up in the Okanagan for the weekend, and I've already been celebrating in style with a Starbucks date and some retail therapy in downtown Penticton with my cousins. I'm heading to Kelowna tonight to join the festivities and watch the fireworks. When I saw Kate Middleton looking absolutely regal and downright effortless in her Canada Day outfit, I just had to blog about it. I'm still in awe of her beauty. I hope all my fellow Canadians take the time to celebrate our country, and wear those Canadian tuxedos with pride!
