new season motivation

I'm usually not one to complain, but working out and eating right is hard. I've recently gained a little bit of weight and trying to lose that last five pounds is a killer. With August soon coming to a close, I've dedicated the month of September to try and make some healthy lifestyle changes. It's just not easy when I'm tempted with yummy snacks and desserts (especially cheesecake... my weakness). What are your secrets for staying in shape this season? I would love to know!

I wore this outfit on a date to Banana Leaf, delicious malaysian cuisine. It was my first experience, and I'm still thinking about how amazing the food was! This Talula blouse is quickly becoming a closet favourite, with it's delicate lace pattern I love dressing it up with heels or down with jean shorts. Speaking of heels, I recently purchased these studded beauties on a trip to the outlets in Seattle. Love how the embellishment can add that little bit of edge to any outfit (and they also make my short frame look extra tall!)

got my ray-bans on

I absolutely love birthdays. Of course, I especially love my own birthday, which happens to be coming up at the end of September. When I was younger... (okay, I'll admit, until I was 18) I used to theme my birthday's every year, and I still love to plan something fun for the big day. I've already started brainstorming ideas, and to get me even more excited I received a surprise early-birthday gift from a special someone. I've been trying on what feels like a hundred pairs of Ray-Bans since the middle of July and I could not for the life of me decide on what style I wanted. On a trip to Seattle on Tuesday, where I not only tried crab for the first time but also mussels, clams and oysters (oh my!) I also came home with a gorgeous pair of New Wayfarer frames. They're the perfect fit.

Andrew and I are total tea grannies, and we've recently become obsessed with Davids Tea, the cutest and yummiest little tea shop. They have some of the most unique flavours and the sweetest names for their loose leaf tea. There are several locations in Vancouver and across Canada, so if you haven't tried it you definitely should! Our favourites are an iced Midsummer Nights Dream and a hot Toasted Walnut. Mmm.

princess for a day

Once again, life gets in the way of blogging regularly. Life has been good though, so I really can't complain. I found some down time today to make my way to Starbucks to blog a little something. Between work, family, friends, and dates with a certain someone, I really haven't had time to take any outfit photos. Instead, I just received a batch of pictures that were taken when I modelled for a student at Blanche Macdonald Centre. The theme was wedding/prom hair and makeup, and I loved the way they turned out. I had the chance to wear my grad dress again which was a little scary; it felt so odd putting it on two years later! Luckily it still fit! Thanks to Kay Lee for the amazing job on the hair and makeup.
