leopard lady

I KNOW IT is a blogger cliche to talk about the weather, but for us Vancouverites, any amount of sunshine is a big deal. I was so happy that it was warm enough to bring out my favourite pair of high-waisted jean shorts and of course, my trusty leopard print blouse which I've been constantly treating as a neutral in my wardrobe these days. After doing a bit of retail therapy (I purchased this Panama hat and a cute striped dress) I sat outside Starbucks with one of my girlfriends and sipped iced coffee enjoying the day. Even in my worst mood, the sunshine always has a way of making me smile. Have a great Wednesday everyone.

monday blues

HERES TO ONE of those Mondays. You know the one. When everything seems a lot easier said than done (like, for instance, getting out of my cozy bed). I didn't mean to take a week hiatus from blogging, but as we all know, life sometimes gets in the way and everything just needs to be put on hold. As of right now, all I feel like doing is listen to Bahamas on repeat, take kickboxing classes, and watch reruns of Sex and the City with a full glass...bottle... of vino and a tub of chocolate chip mint ice cream. Nothing like good music, cardio, trashy tv, wine and sweets to sooth the soul.

What's your cure for Monday blues? At this point, I'll try anything!

crazy for cobalt

COBALT IS ONE of my favourite colours this season. I've never been one to gravitate towards blues, but the deep jewel tone of cobalt has been popping up in my wardrobe in everything from dresses, shoes, and now blouses. I love the ease of this blouse, and I've been pairing it lately with simple skinnies, a structured blazer, and flats. Perfect for day, and it can easily transition into night by adding a pair of statement heels. My favourite right now? These leopard beauties that I bought at the Forever 21 in Times Square.

What bright colours are staples in your wardrobe this Spring/Summer?

printed maxi

WHEN I SAW that the Gap was having a sale, I knew there was going to be trouble. I immediately had my fitting room piled with cute striped tees, white jeans, summer dresses, and this beautiful maxi dress. Now, as a petite girl of only 5'2" I am always skeptical of maxi dresses or skirts on my body. Usually they're too long, too baggy in the waist, or just make me look... odd. But this printed maxidress stole my heart. The length is perfect, it's comfortable yet can be dressed up or down. And okay, I'll let you in on a little secret. I just so happened to be perusing the Gap Kids section and came across this classic jean jacket. Gap Boys! I guess that's a perk of being vertically challenged :) Have a happy Tuesday everyone!

whistler bound

THE OTHER WEEK the boy and I decided to drive up to Whistler for a weekend getaway. Full of mountain biking (for him) and shopping (for me), it was so nice to have a little R&R in the beautiful resort town. Between morning runs, coffee breaks, delicious sushi, and plenty of cold bevy's, I was a very happy girl. It was also refreshing to keep my outfits easy, casual, and cute - not a lot of thought, just throwing on what felt good. As a fashion blogger, sometimes I get so carried away in my outfit choices that I forget to wear what I feel good in. Shorts, a baggy sweater, a cotton dress, flip flops, a jean jacket, my favourite hat, a soft grey tee. No frills, no layers, no glitz or glamour. Sometimes less really is more!

friday love

I'VE BECOME SUCH a night owl. It's 2:30am, I'm wide awake and consumed by the never-ending fashion blogs that I can't stop reading. And, it's Friday, already. I feel like this week just flew by! It's been an interesting week, full of questions, decisions, and change. Big changes. I'll fill you in on the details in a little while. For now, here's five things that I think you'll enjoy: TGIF!
