wonderstruck

HAVE YOU EVER been to a city that completely changed your life? I've never been so in awe, so in love with the atmosphere, the people, the fashion, and the lifestyle of a city before. New York is so much more than what I imagined. On our third day in the city, we visited Central Park, Fifth Avenue, and ended up at the Empire State Building just before dusk. The sun was shining, we had a delicious lunch at a random deli, and I did my best Audrey Hepburn impression in front of Tiffany's. It is way too much fun playing tourist in an unknown place. If you've been to NYC, what was your favourite moment?

P.S. See proof of how much fun I had in a short film documenting my New York City adventure!

feeling eventful

GOOD MORNING everyone! I wanted to give you all a heads up about a few events that I'll be attending tonight and tomorrow. Who doesn't love a shopping party?! Tonight, it's The Bay Downtown's Spring Shopping Event to preview a few lovely collections for Spring. The Bay is featuring a few of my favourite Vancouver fashionistas: Jen of Her Waise Choice, Monika of The Doctor's Closet, Christie from Style Nine to Five, and Brittany from Style Republic. Remember to RSVP!

Tomorrow, in the cutest part of South Surrey, the Shops at Morgan Crossing are holding A Night of Fashion. With participating stores such as Muse Social Fashion House, Blo Blow Dry Bar, Noir Lash Lounge, Pure Nail Bar, Calvin Klein, and more, it is sure to be a fabulous night! I'll be getting my very own blo-out, sipping on a few cocktails, and watching the Banana Republic fashion show. I can't wait!

Finally, the Dakota Group is having their much-anticipated sample sale this week! You have three days to check it out: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday April 26-28! With ridiculous prices for fabulous brand names such as Mackage, Chinese Laundry, Line&Dot, Pour La Victoire, and more, I can't wait to get my hands on something wonderful. Remember it's cash only!

Let me know via Twitter or Facebook if you're attending one of these events! I hope to see some of your fashionable faces there. Have a wonderful Thursday!

let's get away from it all

HOLA SEƑORITAS! So, last minute I decided to book a plane ticket and jet off to Mexico for a week! And I had the most fabulous time. Sunshine, great food, and relaxation. It was the most amazing feeling to just have nothing to worry about. With a busy schedule, I forget how nice it is to just take a break from it all - hence, the zero blogging (although I did Instagram a few photos! You can check them out @chellemorgan). I'm pretty sure I changed outfits about four times a daycurse of a fashion blogger but I got Andrew to snap a few photos in this Mexico-inspired skirt and flowy blouse. I'll post a photo diary of my trip later this week! Adios!

left my heart in nyc

THE CITY THAT never sleeps. Sigh. Andrew and I went to New York City in February and everythingthe atmosphere, the lights, the people who are always in a rushcompletely captured my heart. Side note: this post is way overdue. We took so many photos in New York that it became a scary, daunting task for me to go through them all and edit them. It was taking me forever to choose my favourites! So I've settled on two separate posts: one, for a photo diary, and a second to showcase this video. I have a permanent smile on my face while watching this. So many moments captured. And, despite my unprepared outfits for the weather (classic Chelle to think NYC will be 10 degrees warmer than Vancouver) and the fact that we optimistically thought we'd make it to every tourist stop on our list (big fail) the trip was perfect.

P.S. Feel free to make fun of my dorky, excited tourist voice. I couldn't help it... the city amazed me.

morning coffee

FIRST OF ALL, Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend. Mine was filled with trips to Starbucks in the sunshine, drinks with good friends and a delicious family feast. I love an excuse for my Dad to make his signature barbecued turkey and mango chutney. Mmm. And to top it all off, Vancouver graced us with the most amazing weather. These photos were taken a little while ago by the gorgeous and talented Marissa Cristina Photography who I've been lucky to get to know and become great friends with (especially wonderful that she works up the street from me)! So nice to enjoy a tea latte with a fashionista who loves talking style and photography. Happy Monday everyone!

acting on impulse

I LOVE WHEN impulse buys turn out to be a wardrobe staple. I find myself turning to these blue suede wedges all the time (seen here & here) to add a punch of colour to my outfits. Maybe it's a sign that I need to be more impulsive at times, take a few more risks and push myself outside of my comfort zone. I tend to have a lot of big ideas, but never give myself the time to implement them. But, it's never too late to change. My third year of University is coming to an end and I'm so ready to tackle the Spring/Summer months. I have an amazing, impulsive, daring idea that I plan to put into action immediately... After I come back from a much needed vacation. I'm thinking Mexican sun, sitting by the ocean with a margarita in hand. Anyone care to join me? Have a lovely Thursday!

social experiment

THERE IS NOTHING I love more than showcasing the talent of creative, lovely minds that have so much passion and drive! On my radar this week is Social Experiment, the gorgeous one-of-a-kind cocktail rings designed by Georgia Heraty. A fellow Vancouver lady like myself, Georgia uses the natural beauty of the West Coast as her inspiration - and the results are breathtaking! Diverse and simple, yet undeniably chic, there's a colour, size and shape for anyone's fashion tastes. I loved connecting with Georgia - she is as lovely as her designs are! You can find her on Twitter @Soc_Experiment and see more of her rings in her Etsy shop.

I know I can't wait until I have one of these gorgeous rings on my finger! If you're interested in trying on your own Social Experiment ring, Georgia will be showcasing her designs at the Muse Social Fashion House event tomorrow! See details here and remember to RSVP

You can also find Social Experiment at Violet Hill Boutique in Stevenson, and Barefoot Contessa on Main Street and Commercial Ave.

turning dreams into plans

I HAVE VERY high hopes for April. I love the transition into Spring when I finally get to put away my winter knits and dark hues for something a little lighter, more girly and more colourful. Kelly & I had so much fun with this shoot. As well, my third year in University is coming to an end. I can't believe I'll be starting my final year of school this summer! It's a good feeling and a scary feeling all at once... I don't know if I'm ready to take on the world quite yet. But I am ready for warmer weather, dreaming up big ideas that will hopefully turn into plans, and travelling. I need to get away. But don't we all? Happy Monday everyone!

P.S. You have a few more days to enter my giveaway for a lovely pillow from Delysh Designs!
