all smiles

I know it is extremely cliche to talk about the weather, but can I please just say how incredible Vancouver has been lately? When our good fortune finally disappears I'm going to go through major sunshine withdrawal. Last week one of my best friends Alanna and I went to Fort Langley for lunch, and she was my lovely model for a photography project I was working on for class. I love this little town, it's so full of vintage charm. The Little White House is one of my favourite spots for tea and macarons, especially after a delicious chickpea & sweet potato salad from Wendel's Bookstore & Cafe.

Due to the hot weather, I've been wearing crop tops and circle skirts like no other. It's such an easy outfit to throw on, and the best part is I can exchange heels for flats if I need to get a bit more dressed up. What's your summer uniform this year? Happy Tuesday everyone!

floral crop top

Since I got over the initial doubt and discovered that crop tops actually work for my body type, they've been a staple in my wardrobe for summer. This one in particular, which I bought on impulse at Forever 21, has been paired with everything high-waisted that I own, from shorts to skirts. This hi-lo skirt from Blonde boutique in Kelowna, BC is another favourite of mine, perfect for dressing up or down  I love how it has so much movement. It's also been pretty darn amazing leaving the house everyday without thinking of a jacket. Our days and nights in Vancouver have been wonderfully warm... Summertime, I could definitely get used to you. Happy Wednesday everyone!

love for lilac

I love a dress that makes you look twice, and this little number is a definite conversation starter. I first wore this dress to a morning-after-an-amazing-wedding brunch. After one-too-many drinks and a lot of delicious food the night before, I still felt (surprisingly) both feminine and comfortable wearing this the next day! With a unique off-the-shoulder style and a beautiful lilac shade, I keep hearing the eager question of "where is that dress from?" Enter Shop22.ca, a new Vancouver online store that has such a great collection of clothes and jewellery (you can win a $25 voucher on their Facebook Page here). I love supporting a local initiative, and a huge thanks to Elizabeth who was a joy to collaborate with  I'll be styling this piece on the blog next week!

And if you want to treat yourself to something lovely, Shop22.ca is offering my readers 10% off all purchases  Just quote 'LoveChelle'

boston strong

Although I haven't been the most active blogger as of late (blaming school and life in general, as always) I have been travelling quite a bit! Just over a month ago this guy flew me out East to visit him and we decided to take a weekend trip to Boston. It was one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities I've been to, and it really had a Vancouver-esque feel to it, which I loved. The architecture was just stunning with that distinct east coast look, and the whole city seemed to be outside enjoying themselves. We had so much fun exploring Cambridge  If I had the opportunity, I'd be at Harvard in a heartbeat.

It really was amazing to see a city that had been through so much be so alive and strong. New York, I think you have a bit of competition; Boston might have just stolen my heart!

hello keloha

The indie music fangirl was completely satisfied last weekend at the amazing Keloha Festival 2013 in Kelowna, BC. Singing at the top of my lungs to Matt & Kim, sipping on delicious Mixed & Ready Canadian Club drinks, and dancing around in a crop top in 30 degree weather... Doesn't get much better than that. I was so lucky to have Andrew join me, as well as meeting the lovely Tiffany and Ian who were the greatest concert companions and instant friends. Here are a few snapshots of our Mixed & Ready moments — and you can upload yours here for a chance to win tix to the Grove Music Festival in Toronto. Cheers!
