is it spring yet

LOOKING THROUGH MY archives of photos I came across this outfit and it made me long for Spring so badly! My favourite Madewell trousers and a simple American Eagle white button-up was basically my uniform throughout the warmer months. I'm kind of over winter and this foggy, rainy, horrible weather Vancouver has been having. I want an excuse to wear my cute dresses, flats, and brightly coloured trousers. Also, all of the Spring merchandise hitting stores lately has made this longing for warmer weather even more apparent. Sunshine just makes the world happier, don't you think? Happy Wednesday!

buttoned up

I'M FINDING THAT school is such a great environment to meet new people and I've been trying to take advantage of my final year of my undergrad to do just that. And if I can meet anyone else in University who is half as sweet as Marissa from Never Dress Down then I'll be doing just fine. Honestly you never know who you're going to end up talking to... who might turn out to be a lifelong friend, who might be an awesome study partner, or who will randomly think you're fashionable and present a job opportunity — which may or may not have happened to me yesterday!

So dedicate today to taking a few chances, saying hi to a stranger, and see where your day takes you. Happy Thursday!

leather and tweed { day }

MY DAYS HAVE been particularly simple lately, consisting of class four days a week and seeing friends whenever I have the chance. Which, in turn, puts my outfits into the 'simple' category during the day as well  comfortable and easy to wear. This Michael Kors blazer that my darling mama gifted me for Christmas has been a repeat customer in my wardrobe. The faux leather sleeves offset the tweed in the most perfect way possible, providing a jacket that goes from day to night!

Note: The sky-high leopard heels were a good idea at the time, but it's a women's prerogative to change her mind. I quickly changed into booties instead for added comfort :) Happy Tuesday!

pop of colour

IF YOU'VE BEEN following my blog lately, you'll notice that my outfit posts have consisted of a lot of pants. I've always been a dress + tights + boots kind of gal, but with the lovely variety in print and colour this season, I've been gravitating towards jeans, trousers and leggings. This happily allows me to wear my collection of blouses much more often, and I adore this magenta number from Muse Social Fashion House  the colour just pops!

This has been one tough week, but it's almost over... And wearing these fabulous cheetah print jeans definitely brightened my day. It's true what they say though, you never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. Wishing all of you a very happy Thursday!

stripes and sunshine

IT WAS SUNNY and beautiful out in Vancouver a little bit ago and I boldly waltzed out of my house sans jacket rocking my favourite Mango jeans and Aldo booties. Big mistake, as I was quickly shivering and bundling up in my winter coat, but I managed to snap this super casual outfit in all its glory. You know those days when you throw on something so basic and for some reason you're just feeling as confident as ever? Why is it always when I don't put any effort into an outfit, I turn out loving it the most? Just me?

Things are starting to get a bit hectic in my life  School, new opportunities, and I'm making a big push to get this blog off the ground. I appreciate all the support and my friends for being my photographers, even if you have no idea how to use a camera. Seriously, you all are so awesome. Have a happy Wednesday everyone!

new years resolutions

I'M FEELING VERY sentimental for some reason, and although I'm a tad late to the party, I've been meaning to do a new years resolution post. So here it is. Does anyone else have the feeling that 2013 is going to be an incredible year? For me, I think there's going to be a lot of change and excitement. It'll be the year I graduate university, the year I attempt to monetize my blog, and probably the year I move out on my own. But my resolutions are purely selfish: I want to focus on bettering me. I want to explore new cities, read new books, take more photos. Above all, I want to quit feeling lonely and start loving my own company.

What are your resolutions for 2013? I'd love to hear them. Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

cropped in mauve

I CAN'T BELIEVE my holiday's are over! It's back to school  and this is my very first post of 2013. I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Years, spending as much time as possible with loved ones. I had a two-week visit from a special someone and happily spent most of every day by his side. I threw on this outfit for my class yesterday, trying out a cute mauve cropped sweater from Covet clothing layered over my repeat favourite, the leopard-print blouse (seen here and here recently).

As nerdy as I may sound, I'm excited to get back into school. I only have 8 more months left of my undergrad degree and I'm panicing that I won't have enough time to soak up all that my university has to offer. Maybe a masters degree is in my future? We'll see. For now, Happy Thursday!
